Right before I went in for my emergency c-section
Just a few minutes later Carson was born
Out of recovery seeing my baby for the first time
Proud, handsome daddy
Sweet grandma
The day of Carson's birth was quite eventful. I just went in for my check up at Dr. Erickson's office, he did a couple of tests and realized that I was leaking out amniotic fluid and needed to get to the hospital right away. I was really nervous because this was my first C-section and I didn't know what to expect. We got to the hospital and I was so grateful my mom and Matt were there with me and that my kids were safe and sound with my cousin Jill and her family. It was a little scary for me because they were worried that maybe Carson was in danger where I was leaking amniotic fluid and they didn't treat me for strep so they worried about that too. So when I went into the operating room I was already so scared and nervous. When they gave me my spinal my blood pressure dropped critically low and I got so sick. It was so traumatic for me. Then, finally they told me Carson was out, but I didn't hear him cry and got really nervous. It took them over a minute to get him to take a breath. But he finally did and then they rushed him out to do all the tests they needed to. Since I had previous surgeries and this C-section was more invasive then they usually do I was in recovery for a long time. I remember Matt coming in and showing me a picture of Carson. I remember thinking he was so handsome already and loved him instantly. When I finally met my baby I truly knew Heaven had sent me an angel and I didn't know what I did to deserve it, but I was so grateful!!
