My little swimmer
She was against all boys ( and they were older )
I love her swim cap and goggles
Her AMAZING coach
Sadie had her first meet. I was really wondering how it would go because she had only been in lessons for about a month at the time. When we got there we noticed that she was in the "mixed 8 and under" group. So for most of her races she was against older boys. I was praying she wouldn't get just killed. She wasn't nervous at all and the instructors helping were showing them how the whistle vs. the buzzer works. It is so confusing. Her first race was the "free style" when the buzzer went off she didn't realized she needed to dive in until all of the other boys did. So, she was already behind, but sure enough, here she came and she won. Matt and I were so surprised! Then she did the "breath stroke". Same thing, she got in late, but ended up winning that one too. Her form was exactly on! Then she did the "backstroke". She would have won that one, but she kept on looking back so she wouldn't hit her head, so ended up taking 2nd. We were so proud of her effort and talent. I was so proud that she just tried her very best - you can't ask for more. My little sister Whitney was there to support and it meant the world to Sadie. After we were done she looked at Whit and said, "I couldn't have done it without you!"
